Bridges Center for Surgical Weight Loss introduces STOMAPHYX to
San Antonio

The Bridges Center for Surgical Weight Loss of Southwest General Hospital has announced the addition of a new non-invasive procedure called StomaphyX™. This procedure is designed for people who are more than two years out of gastric bypass surgery and have not reached their target weight or have started to regain weight due to loss of restriction. "This procedure offers hope to patients who are struggling to lose weight after previous gastric bypass surgery without having another operation," says Dr. Paresh Rajajoshiwala, the bariatric surgeon for the Bridges Center. With this procedure, the surgeon is able to create a smaller stomach pouch endoscopically with no incisions, and the recovery time for this operation is approximately 48 hours or less.
